Web site CMS (Content Management System) is all very well. But it still hinges on one crucial factor to be successful: having the necessary human resources.

Many expensive CMS solutions flounder not because of the technology, slow access speeds, or a lack of staff training. What makes them fail to live up to expectations is the weakest link in the chain, the end user.

Staff may be 'taking ownership' of the web site, but do they have room in their workload for this extra task? Unless you hire staff dedicated to the job of managing your web site content, updates will usually be "in the pipeline".

Question is, how long is the pipeline? And will the web site update need updating before it finally gets online?
